The effect of O 2 composition modulation on the dynamics and structure of lean CH 4 /air premixed flames was computationally and experimentally investigated, in light of its relevance to oxygen-enhanced combustion (OEC). OEC can result in conditions of stable combustion with reduced NO x emissions.
Measurements of temperature and NO mole fraction are reported in flat, laminar, stoichiometric and fuel-rich premixed methane/air flames subjected to varying degrees of preheating, up to 400 K. The flames are stabilized above a perforated ceramic tile burner. By varying the exit velocity of the preh
