The compressive strength of concrete is shown to be increased by the presence of sodium chloride or ocean salts in the mixing water. The strength was found to increase with increasing salinity even up to 7% by weight of water.

Nous avons remarqu~ que la r~sistance a la compression du b~ton augmentait si l'on accroissait la tenair en chlorure de sodium ou en sels marins m~langes dans l'eau. De telles augmentations ont ~t~ trouv~es pour des teneurs en sels aussi ~levees que 7% du poids de l'eau.

Laboratory testing of 96 (150x150 mm) concrete cube specimens were performed to study the effect of aggregate variation on the strength of laterite concrete. The different investigations were carried out using granite gravel as coarse aggregate and lateritic sand as fine aggregate. The best proporti
