## Abstract A second nematicidal principle isolated from __Tagetes__ roots has been identified as 5‐(3‐buten‐1‐ynyl)‐2.2′‐bithienyl. Upon catalytic hydrogenation 5‐butyl‐2.2′‐bithienyl was obtained which by comparison of infrared spectra proved to be identical with a synthetically prepared sample.
