## Abstract Polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) and carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) mixed hydrogels were prepared by heat treatment. The physical characteristics of the hydrogels were studied by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy. The swelling study of the hydrogels in wa
