## Abstract Poly(__N__,__N__‐dimethylacrylamide) (PDMA) brushes are successfully grown from unplasticized poly(vinyl chloride) (uPVC) by well‐controlled surface‐initiated atom transfer radical polymerization (SI‐ATRP). Molecular weights of the grafted PDMA brushes vary from ≈ 35 000 to 2 170 000 Da
