✦ Synopsis

We show that collective emission strongly affects excitauon and the enhancement of muluphoton roruzatron near resominces mvolvmg odd numbers of photons. Such effects lead to stnkmg sb&s and broadening of resonantly enhanced muluphoton romzation signals near the odd photon resonance, and to a strong decrease in the ioruration with increasmg pressure.

The fragmentation behavior of CF3I in the resonance-enhanced multiphoton ionization (REMPI) spectrum through the electronic C state is investigated. Rotational bandshape simulations are used to establish the existence of an inhomogeneous predissociation of the resonant intermediate state. Difference
