## Abstract ## BACKGROUND Hypoglycemia is the principle adverse effect of sulfonylurea, especially in patients with renal failure. Conventional treatment consists of hypertonic dextrose, sometimes combined with glucagon. However, paradoxically both agents can stimulate insulin secretion and induce
