Abstract
In the current study, the effects of oxygen (O~2~) plasma treatment on indium tin oxide (ITO) and its correlation to the efficiency of organic solar cells (OSCs) were investigated. The O~2~ plasma treatment is able to remove impurities of the ITO surface and increase its surface energy to match the water‐based poly (3,4‐ethylenedioxythiophene): poly (styrenesulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS) solution. The strong polar interaction from the O~2~ plasma‐treated ITO surface helps in the conformational change of the PEDOT chain from a benzoid to a quinoid structure, which improves film quality and the efficiency of organic solar cells. magnified image
