Effect of γ-radiation on ointment cold cream

✦ Synopsis

In this paper, Co-60 Y ray was used to irradiate the ointmant cold cream at roan tenperature (25°C).We also used ETIR, (X and thin film chranatogram to analyse various irradiated samples. It was found that the ointnent cold cream can be irradiated at dose of 5-35 kCy and at dose rate fran 0.2 to 0.6 kGy ,h at roan taiperature (25°c)without evident decanposition. At dose of 5-15 kGy, the nuitber of bacteria can be reduced to hygienic standard value. The radiation sterilization is a safe mathod for killing the bacteria in the ointaent cold cream.
