Abstract

The effect of thyrotropin‐releasing hormone, added to the external environment, on in vivo Na^+^ uptake by Helisoma carabaceum was assessed. It was found that 10^−5^M TRH significantly decreased unidirectional sodium flux. The Na^+^ concentration in the tissues and hemolymph was not affected by the hormone. Histidyl‐proline‐diketopiperazine, a TRH‐metabolite, had no effects on Na^+^ uptake in vivo.
