## Abstract 4,4โ€ฒโ€Hexafluoroisopropylideneโ€2,2โ€bis(phthalic acid anhydride) (1) was treated with Lโ€methionine (2) in acetic acid and the resulting 4,4โ€ฒโ€(hexafluoroisopropylidene)โ€__N,N__โ€ฒโ€bis(phthaloylโ€Lโ€methionine) diacid (4) was obtained in high yields. The direct polycondensation reaction of this
