## Abstract Recent opinions on the effect of nonmetallic inclusions, especially sulfides, on the nucleation of pits, stress corrosion cracks, and hydrogen‐induced cracks are reviewed. The nonmetallic inclusions present in steels as impurities adversely affect the corrosion resistance of steels. Th
