✦ Synopsis

The original article to which this Erratum refers was published in Human Mutation 24: 21-34 (2004).

Using a newly developed method-Arrayed Primer Extension (APEX) and direct sequencing of exon 10 and 11 to reanalyze for TP53 sequence alterations-13 new mutations were identified. In addition, a few clerical errors in the nomenclature of some of the mutations described in the original Table 2 (on page 25) were discovered. All these mutations are listed in the following table. The survival data for this cohort of patients have also recently been updated, with last follow-up by September of 2004. We have redone all survival analyses and compared the updated mutation data with clinical parameters. The update of both mutation status and clinical follow-up did not change any of the main conclusions in the original paper, and some of the associations got even stronger (Table 1).

The publisher regrets the long delay in publication of the erratum.
