✦ Synopsis
High precision Fourier transform i.r. spectroscopy was employed to monitor the 295 K phase transition of the carbazole-1,3,5-trinitrobenxene charge transfer complex. The experimental probe used was a detailed observation of the temperature dependence of i.r. vibrational modes parameters. It was shown that several internal vibrational modes are influenced by this phase transition and in particular the transition does not involve breaking of the weak hydrogen bond existing in this crystal.
