TT'lien light falls upon a photoreceptor a photochemical reaction ensues which results in the decomposition of photolabile substances (e.g., visual purple) into at least two breakdown products. These breakdown products, referred to as P and A, reunite to produce more photosensitive substance. This gives rise to the reversible photochemical system advanced by Hecht ('19 a, b, c, '20 a, b).
