β¦ Synopsis
Abstraet---Copolymers of acrylonitrile with methacrylic acid were synthesized electrochemically. The reaction system consisted of dimethyl formamide as solvent and various quarternary ammonium salts as supporting electrolytes. The influences of supporting electrolytes and electrode materials on the compositions of the copolymers were investigated. The copolymers were characterized by i.r., NMR and elemental analyses. Thermal decomposition studies of the polymer in air are also discussed.
