✦ Synopsis
A~tract--Infra-red spectra (2300-2000 cm ~) were studied for cast PVC films obtained after separation of the unreacted, partly deuterated Cd stearate from samples subjected to thermal degradation at 180" in air. Based on the absorbance at 2140 cm -1 corresponding to the C-D stretching vibration, the amount of stearate incorporated into the polymer proved to be less than 5~o of the carboxy groups of the Cd stearate originally presented.
