Abstract
This Letter demonstrates low cross polarization with improved return loss and bandwidth for a single concentric ring linearly polarized radial line slot array (LPRLSA) operating at 10.65 GHz, gain 14 dB. This was acheived by narrowing the slot width and optimizing the placement of each slot pair relative to the edge of a short‐circuited radial waveguide. Measured return loss and cross polarization levels were better than −20 dB over a 10% bandwidth (cf. 3.5% previously reported) at VSWR of 2. The measured and simulated fa‐ field patterns are presented. © 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
