โฆ Synopsis
TIus paper presents a prehmmary model of the gear ratlo of center-pm bearmg harmomc (or wobble) side-dnve mlcromotors, accounhng for fimte fnctlon m the bearing and at the bushing contacts The gear ratm of a wobble mlcromotor IS affected by rotor shp, which IS a fun&on of motive torque, excitation angle, and fnctlon torque The gear ratio of a wobble micromotor can be expressed as a constant term plus a term that accounts for rotor shp The constant term IS the ideal or nominal gear ratio and IS equal to the bearing radius divided by the bearmg clearance The rotor-shp term IS shown to be directly proportional to the bushing fnction torque and inversely proportional to the square of the exQtatlon voltage The denved model IS used to study the operation of wobble rmcromotors m nitrogen through gear-ratio measurements The model fit of the expenmental results IS wthm 10%
