โœฆ Synopsis

Application. On sites in Tasmania which formerly carried native forest and where pre-planting weed control has been adequate, no gain in tree growth may result from post-planting weed control in Eucalyptus nitens plantations. This is unusual in plantation forestry in Australia. Furthermore, application of atrazine for post-planting weed control may reduce tree growth. On yellow podzolic soils derived from dolerite tree growth rate in E. nitens plantations may increase with applications of N and P fertilisers.
