โฆ Synopsis
A recent model for the variation of the Huggins coefficient, k, with the molecular weight of a polymer is modified by considering the effect of polydispersity. It is shown that the value of k for polymer solutions is lowered significantly by the existence of a molecular weight distribution. The proposed equation is applicable to whole polymers of styrene in a wide variety of solvents.
