โฆ Synopsis
It has been clarified that the anomalously small pinning potential energy at low temperatures obtained from magnetic relaxation measurements can be attributed to the shape of the averaged pinning potential. In this article the effect of plastic deformation of the fluxoid lattice on relaxation is discussed; where the deformation is speculated to occur from the existence of energy dissipation, even in the regime of reversible fluxoid motion within pinning potentials. Under the occurrence of plastic deformation, the low temperature anomaly in the apparent pinning potential energy defined by the relaxation rate becomes more pronounced compared to the case of simple sinusoidal potential. The effect of the distribution of the threshold level for plastic deformation is also discussed.
