✦ Synopsis

Tryptophan and phenolate anion here photoionized in various polar gi3s.e~ at 77 K. The initial decay rate of zhe isothermal fluorcscencz fromelectron-cation recombination incrcascs wjthdecrcasing photoionization energy and probably with increasing matrix polarity. This indicates that the initial kinetic energy of thz electrons produced reflects the photoionization energy and inmenses the nvcrafe electron--otion scpxation distant.
