โœฆ Synopsis

This paper presents the results of an experimental investigation of the ยฏuctuation velocity distributions of solid particles when they move in the downward gas turbulent pipe ยฏow. The glass particles (Stk L % 1) having an average diameter of 50 lm were used as a disperse phase. The average particle mass concentration varied within the range of M 0 to 1.2. The results obtained showed the particle ยฏuctuation velocity to be strongly dependent on their mass loading. There has been observed an inยฏuence of the particle concentration on the signiยฎcant increasing of their axial ยฏuctuation velocity in the pipe wall region.

Deposition of particles towards the wall from a turbulent dispersed ยฏow in a vertical pipe has been studied numerically. A fully developed turbulent pipe ยฏow of air is chosen as the primary ยฏow, and it is represented by the law-of-the-wall relations and the average turbulence statistics obtained fro
