The effects of aging of source materials during the synthesis of ZSM-5 films on quartz surfaces were investigated. To verify these aging effects, three sets of samples, having a specified composition but different aging periods, were prepared. When aged gels or solutions were used, the resulting ZSM

β¦ Synopsis
The synthesis and properties of ZSM-5 zeolites crystallized from the reaction mixture 10Na20 AI203 60SiO2 3000H20 10 organic (organic = tetrapropylammonium bromide, hexane-1, 6-diol, hexane-1, 6-diamine or piperazine) at 150Β°C are compared with those of 'organic free' ZSM-5. It is shown that the organic species has a marked effect on the composition and excess cation content of the productβ’ Only the tetrapropylammonium ion is considered to be a true structure directing template, piperazine and hexane-1, 6-diol act as hydrophobic void fillers, and hexane-1, 6-diamine holds an intermediate positionβ’

It was explored by density functional calculations that exchanged La or P species exert great influence on the local Al sites as well as on the adjacent exchanged species. In partially exchanged La-or P/H-ZSM-5 zeolite, some of the Al sites will fall off from the zeolite framework even more easily t
