## Abstract Application of cuprous oxide (Cu~2~O) thin films for methane gas sensors was investigated. The Cu~2~O films were prepared by the thermal oxidation of Cu films under reduced partial pressure of oxygen. The XRD and AFM measurements were performed to investigate crystal structure and the s

The gas sensitivity of chromium oxide, a semiconductor metal oxide, to hydrogen in air and to oxygen in hydrogen is presented and the operation principle is described. It is shown that when this oxide is doped with Pd promoter, it has high sensitivity to hydrogen concentrations of a few ppm in air.
