โœฆ Synopsis

Ceramic samples of Gd2Cu~_xNixO4 with x= 0, 0.03, 0.05, 0.07, 0.09 and 0.11, and Gd2Cut_xZnxO4 with x=0.01, 0.03 and 0.05, were prepared. Magnetic measurements showed that the antiferromagnetic ordering temperature of Cu decreased due to the substitution of Cu by Ni or Zn. The effect of Ni on suppressing antiferromagnetic ordering is larger than that of Zn. The results are compatible with the substitution effect on superconductivity in NdLssCeo.~sCuO4.

Nd 2ร€x R x CuO 4 compounds (R Y and Fe and x 0X0 and 0.05) are prepared by the conventional ceramic method. The majority of charge carriers is found to be positive for Nd 2 CuO 4 and negative for substituted compounds. The electrical resistivity decreased with Y-substitution and decreased further wi
