✦ Synopsis

The effect of multiple doses of cadmium on carbohydrate metabolism in rats was studied. The treated groups received two dose levels, 0.25 and 0.50 mg cadmium/kg ip every 2nd day for 20 doses. Plasma glucose, immunoresponsive insulin levels, and body weights were determined before treatment and after 10 and 20 doses of cadmium. After the last dosage, ~-glucose-l~C (uniformly labeled) was administered to a randomly chosen subgroup and a carbon dioxide radiorespirometry experiment was performed. Statistically significant differences in blood glucose and insulin levels were not detected a t any time, indicating no

## Abstract In order to determine the potential pharmacokinetic drug interaction between ranitidine and diltiazem (DTZ), each of ten male beagle dogs, age 2Β·7–4Β·0 years, weight 13–16 kg, received a single oral dose of sustained release DTZ with and without previous multiple oral doses of ranitidine

The aim of this prospective study was to examine the effect of clozapine on blood glucose metabolism compared with haloperidol. Oral glucose tolerance tests were taken every week for 8 weeks to assess the prevalence of diabetes mellitus, impaired glucose tolerance and glycemic peak delay in 19 patie
