Abstract

The effect of modulated signal frequency on ringdown spectrum of a single‐mode fiber Fabry‐Perot cavity is discussed experimentally. It demonstrates that the beat period is independent of modulated frequency, but the observed beat number is related to modulated frequency. The observed beat number decreases with the increase of modulated frequency. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract In this letter, a general analysis on the output performance of single‐mode fiber Fabry–Perot (SMF F‐P) cavity with birefringence is carried out and demonstrated experimentally. The effect of magnitude of birefringence on the output characteristics of SMF F‐P cavity is discussed. Numeri
