## Abstract Uncoupling proteins (UCPs) uncouple oxidative phosphorylation from ATP synthesis by dissipating proton gradient across mitochondrial inner membrane. The physiological role of neuronal specific UCP5 is unknown. We explored the effects of reduced UCP5 expression on mitochondrial membrane
