✦ Synopsis
The effects of the msabthty-to-extractIon temperature raho (T,,,/T,) and the amount of antIsolvent have been mvestlgated with special reference to solvent selectlvlty, refimng power and the overall processmg solvent index ( KPsl) It has been observed that, for every solvent, there exists an ophmum value of T,,,/T,, where the maximum quahtatlve and quantitative improvement could be obtained The importance of the index Kpsl m solvent extraction has been emphasized and this index has been used for the optmuzatlon of important process parameters, such as the mlsablhty-to-extraction temperature ratio T,/T, and the amount of antlsolvent A regression analysis approach has also been made to correlate the overall processing solvent index with the rmsahhty-to-extraction temperature ratio
