YBaCuO bulk superconductors prepared by the melt-powder-melt-growth process (MPMG) have a high critical current density. It has been found that non-superconducting Y2BaCuO 5 (211) particles dispersed in the 123 superconducting phase can work as strong pinning centres, resulting in higher Jc values.
Compounded polypropylene powders with various concentrations of corn starch were processed in a Haake torque rheometer at constant temperature, 180 ยฐC, for different times in a closed system. A scanning electron micrograph of 5-min processed sample shows a ยฎne dispersion of starch particles in the p
