The effects of catalyst particle size on the hydrocracking reactions of Athabasca bitumen were studied in the presence ofCoO-MoO,/Al,O, catalyst. Six different catalyst particle sizes, namely 3.2,1.7, 1.18,0.6,0.3 and co.15 mm were employed in the hydrocracking reactions. Reducing the catalyst size

β¦ Synopsis
The effect of low temperature oxidation on the composition of Athabasca bitumen was examined. Oxidation temperatures in the range 125-l 35Β°C and extents of oxidation up to 100 mg 02/g bitumen were investigated. The aromatics concentration was observed to decline steadily and the concentration of asphaltenes to increase, during oxidation. The saturates were unaffected by low-temperature oxidation. The resins concentration displayed a strange behaviour, first dropping and then increasing to a maximum and again dropping as oxidation proceeded.

Athabasca oil sand on degassing in vacua releases gases volatile at -78Β°C which are composed of neopentane, methane, acetaldehyde, propane and propylene. At elevated temperature, 70-21O"C, additional quantities of these materials are produced by thermo-Iysis along with other C2-C5 hydrocarbons, CO2,
In-situ combustion is a thermal recovery method applicable to heavy oil locations. The thermal energy released by partial burning ofthe crude oil is significant in the displacement of the remaining oil. ## Abstract Polymer modified bitumen (PMB) is a binder obtained by the incorporation of polymer into the bitumen by mechanical mixing or chemical reaction. This study deals with the modification of bitumen with three types of polymers (LDPE, EVA, and SBS) in the presence of filler (CaCO~3~). The mo
