✦ Synopsis
The paper gives theoretical results for condensation on low-finned tube in which the temperature drop at the liquidvapour interface due to interphase matter transfer (interface resistance) is included. The condensation coefficient is taken as unity. Results show, for the case of steam, that in the regions of the fin surface where the condensate film is very thin, the local heat flux can be reduced by a factor of around 2 when the interface resistance is included. Theoretical results for the top of the tube show a significant drop in average vapour-to-surface heat-transfer coefficient with decrease in vapour pressure (around half associated with interface resistance and half due to fluid property variation) in line with earlier measurements.

## Abstract Effect of fins on heat transfer around a tube was investigated experimentally. A test tube of 30 mm diameter was installed in a test section of an open‐type wind tunnel as a single tube, or as a center tube in a single tube row and in a tube bundle of staggered layout. Fins made of pape
Experimental studies of film condensation of HFC134a and CFC12 on single horizontal smooth tube and three enhanced tubes have been conducted. The objective is to obtain the basic data for film condensation of HFC134a on low thermal conductivity enhanced tubes. The results indicate that the predicted
By matching the theoretical pressure loss of a finned-tube heat exchanger with the pressure rise over a fan through an idealized fan characteristic, the velocities and flow rates are determined for different amounts of fouling on the surfaces. Using a typical correlation for the fin-side convective
## Abstract The mechanism of convective condensation heat transfer of moist mixed gas across a horizontal tube was studied in this paper. The models referring to how the liquid film flows and the heat transfers on the tube are set up by combining modified film model and Nusselt condensation theory.
