β¦ Synopsis
Bi( 2223) is reported to be a high-Tc phase with a Tc of 1lOK. Pb addition has been reported to stabilize the 2223 phase. we have made a systematic investigation on the non-stoichiometric starting composition of 2223 Bil~7Pb0~31nxSr2Cal~gCu30y and and Sn). The samples have been treatments and characterized by with nominal compositions Bil.7Pb0.3AxSr2Ca2CU30y (A=Ag subjected to different heat DC electrical resistance, AC magnetic susceptibility and X-ray diffraction measurements. Detailed analyses of the measurements performed are presented.

The effect of core density on the processing of superconducting tapes has been investigated. Tapes were prepared with different 'as-rolled' densities, but all other mechanical and thermal parameters remained the same. The precursor powder used had a nominal stoichiometry of Bi,.,,Pb,.,,Sr,.,,Ca~.~~C
