✦ Synopsis


The potentiostatic method has been used to measure the cd/time relations for passive Ni in presence of Br-ions. The results confirm the conclusions made for Cl-in Part I. Activation begins at potentials below the discharge potential for the halogen, and is primarily initiated by ions. Discharge of molecular halogen leads to attack by direct chemical reaction with NiO, and causes the appearance of a second maximum in the &/log Z relation. R&umr&Utilisation de la methode potentiostatique a l'etablissement des relations densite de courant/ temps pour le Ni passif en presence d'ions Br. Les resultats connrment les conclusions deduites pour Cl-dam la partie I. L'activation commence a des potentiels moindres que celui de d&charge de l'halogene et est prealablement initiee par des ions. La d&harge de l'halogene mol&culaire conduit 51 une attaque par reaction chimique directe avec NiO, et provoque l'apparition d'un second maximum de la relation &/log I. Zusammenfassnng-Mit Hilfe potentiostatischer Messmethoden untersuchte man die Strom/Zeitbeziehung fiir passives Nickel in Anwesenheit von Bromidionen. Die Resultate bestltigen die Ergebnisse fiir Chloridionen in Teil I. Die Aktivierung setzt bei Potentialen unterhalb des Entladungspotentials des Halogens ein wird primlr durch Ionen in Gang gesetzt. Entladung des molekularen Halogens fiihrt zu einer Zerstiirung der Elektrode durch eine direkte chemische Reaktion mit NiO und bewirkt das Auftreten eines zweiten Maximums in der E/log I-beziehung.
