✦ Synopsis
The investigation of ECAP of IF steel as a representative of single phase bcc materials demonstrates a practical applicability of this technique for improving its mechanical properties. This paper reports the experimental results on microstructural evolution and the variation of the mechanical properties of IF steel after different ECAP histories.

## Abstract In the present work, investigations on the microstructure of a commercial purity 1100 aluminum that had been subjected to moderate to strong deformation (strains of 1 to 4) by equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) were carried out using X‐ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron micr
## Abstract Several processes of severe plastic deformation are suitable for the production of materials with ultrafine‐grained microstructures which are known to exhibit high strength and often good ductility as well as strain rate sensitive behavior. The most promising ones are equal channel angu
## Abstract Previous work has shown that heat pressing of mica‐based glass‐ceramics can lead to crystal alignment along the direction of pressing. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of heat pressing on the fracture toughness of mica‐based glass‐ceramics. Glass rods (12 × 60 mm) we
