Abstract
The temperature dependence of dielectric and piezoelectric behavior of Pb(Zn~1/3~ Nb~2/3~)~0.91~Ti~0.09~O~3~ single crystals has been investigated for samples poled at different fields along [0β0β1] direction. An increase in rhombohedral to tetragonal phaseβtransition temperature (T~rt~) with dc field was observed due to the polarization rotation via a monoclinic phase. At higher field, a small kink in the dielectric constant near 125βΒ°C was observed, suggesting a fieldβinduced rhombohedral to monoclinic phase transition. The activation energy for conduction, below T~rt~, was determined as 0.17, 0.32, and 0.11βeV for the samples poled at 0, 0.5, and 1.0βkV/mm, respectively.
