## Abstract The seasonal variation of the quality of stream water in a snowy temperate area, where rain or temporary warming can cause frequent melting at the surface of snow cover, even in mid‐winter, was studied. Monthly runoff is highest in the snowmelt seasons March and April, and lowest in Nov
