## Abstract Trace amounts of explosives on solid surfaces were detected by mass spectrometry at ambient conditions with a new technique termed dielectric barrier discharge ionization (DBDI). By the needle–plate discharge mode, a plasma discharge with energetic electrons was generated, which could l
