The Rankine-Hugoniot equations for hydromagnetic shocks are extended to include the energy and momentum flux due to Alfvtn waves incident on the shock. The shock relations are solved numerically for a wide variety of parameters typical of interplanetary conditions. The presence of the waves can caus
