โฆ Synopsis
The effects of crystallizable cordierite glass on devitrification of Pyrex borosilicate glass at 800 ยฐC have been investigated. X-ray diffraction results show that with a cordierite glass content greater than 40 vol.%, the cristobalite observed in the pure Pyrex borosilicate glass is completely prevented. The above result is further evidenced by thermal expansion measurements in which the thermal expansion coefficient decreases dramatically with cordierite glass present.

Cordierite-based glass ceramics have been prepared by slip casting from slurries with different dispersant concentrations at a given solids loading (60 wt%). The amount of dispersant was found to have great influence on the rheological behavior of the cordieriteglass suspensions. At low dispersant c
