✦ Synopsis
The effect of magnetic field on the delayed fluorescence (DF) of anthracene in methylene chloride solutions in the presence of the radical cation of N, N, N', N'-tetramethyl-p-phenylenediamine (TMPD) and the radical anion of p-benzoquinone (BQ) has been studied. The results show strong quenching of anthracene tdplets by both TMPDt and BQ: M well as a decrease in the rate of the triplet-radical ion reaction rate (and hence an increase in DF intensity) with increasing magnetic tield. An equation for the effect of magnetic field on DF intensity in the presence of paramagnetic quenchers is proposed.
