Abstract
To evaluate the effect of capacitively coupled electric fields (CCEF) on delayed union of fractures, an experimental model of delayed union was produced in the radius of rabbits, and the process of healing was investigated by radiography, bone mineral density (BMD) measured with dual energy xβray absorptiometry, and histological survey. It was confirmed radiographically and histologically that callus formation was enhanced in the group treated with CCEF. After stimulation, the average BMD increased more than 18% compared with the controls. Our experiment on a delayed union model suggests that CCEF is effective for the treatment of delayed union of fractures.

## Abstract Mineral content, mineral composition, and crystalline pattern of bone in osteoporosis are different from those of normal individuals. Present management of bone mineral loss is rather unsatisfactory primarily because of socioeconomic factors and untoward effects of the treatment drugs.
The paper describes experiments in which high frequency electric fields were applied across flames generated by the action of laser-induced sparks. The objective of the study was to establish whether such fields affect the rates of flame propagation in mixtures at one atmosphere pressure of methane/
