✦ Synopsis
Gd 1Àx Ca x BaSrCu 3 O 7Àd samples (0 6 x 6 0.1) were prepared via solid-state reaction. Four-point probes method was used for resistance versus temperature measurements. Results show decrease in T c by increasing x content. This variation is assumed to be irrelevant to the different phases or impurity effects since X-ray patterns show all samples are tetragonal single-phase. Ca doping decreases the oxygen content and lattice parameters of the samples. It is suggested that Ca prevents the dislocation of oxygen, and then disrupts the hole concentration of the system and antiferromagnetic correlation at CuO 2 planes. Subsequently, destroys the superconductivity of the samples.

We have improved surface resistance (R S ) properties of ErBa 2 Cu 3 O 7Àd (ErBCO) films by using BaTiO 3 (BTO) doping (BTO + ErBCO). The as-grown BTO + ErBCO films did not have enough carriers. We solve this problem by using O 3 + O 2 as background gas during the growth of BTO + ErBCO films. Then,
The effect of Ag-doping and of heat treatment on the superconducting properties have been investigated for sintered Bi-(Pb)-Sr-Ca-Cu-O ceramics consisting of the high-T c ( 2223) phase, where the samples were cooled at different rates immediately after the sintering. For undoped samples the impurity
The effect of Ca doping to melt-processed Gd-based bulk superconductors fabricated by the oxygencontrolled melt growth (OCMG) method was studied. First, we simply added CaCO 3 to the starting materials to dope Ca and observed an increase in the trapped field and the critical current density (J c ) u
