SYNOPSIS
P-Cyclodextrin was blended with poly(viny1 chloride) to study the influence of P-cyclodextrin on the leaching of phthalate ester from PVC. 6-Cyclodextrin was found to reduce the migration of phthalate ester. The considerable effect of P-cyclodextrin on the leaching of phthalate ester was traced to the formation of an inclusion complex formation between the two components.
