-In order to provide some insight into the effect of an impulsive disturbing load om the stability of a structure which is already subjected to major static loads near its critical state, the response of an imperfection semsitive i_~/e~__!ized model with one degree of freedom was using the analytical apprcximatiQn method. Conclusions regarding the response and the stability under the arbitrary form of the impulse are presented.
