Abstract
Conventionally, partially reflective surface antenna contains a highly reflective sheet. It is usually constructed by closely spaced metal elements and its size is equal to that of the supported substrate. In this letter, size of the dielectric material is made larger than that of the reflective sheet. We found that the enlarged surrounding dielectric rim can increase the antenna efficiency.
