The effect of caffeine on a few photo-induced reactions of pyrene in micellar sodium lauryl sulfate (NaLS) has been studied. In these systems caffeine complexes with the pyrene (KassO = 85 i 10 Xl-') and also wi;h the other reactants, e.g. Cuzf or Tl+. The efiiciencies of reactions which involve con
