Alkalies present in cement in the form of Na?SO 4 and/or K2SO 4 do not alter the progress of C3S and C3A hydration. The setting time becomes accelerated especially with K2SO 4 due to the formation of syngenite CaSO4.KpSO4"HpO. The compressive strength
